further information about the trek, please contact: raidsalama@free.fr
Essential paper work and documents
Passport and Visa Information :
Morocco does not require visa application to most countries and you need only
to provide a valid passport of six month at least. Similar rules are applied on
most European citizens, but you need to get the appropriate advises and make
proper checkups with your consulate ahead of any holidays planning. Once in
Morocco, you will submit a pre-filled in visitor’s card that will allow you to
stay in the country for up to 3 months
Money :
The Dirham is the official currency in Morocco, not found outside the
country. While there, money could be changed in most of the major cities where
cash points and exchange offices thrive. Be it in a hotel, restaurants or souks,
exchanging facilities are available everywhere and payments for meals, shopping
souvenirs or extra services could be done with most cards such as Mastercard,
Visa, Maetro and Cirrus. To get more information on this particular issue refer
to our trip dossier for suggestions on how much extra spending to expect.
Health and Vaccinations :
Traveling abroad requires a
medical checkup before your holiday begins. However, there are not any
particular or coercive vaccinations specifically to undertake to travel to the
country. Yet, inoculations against Tetanus, hepatitis A and B are recommended
and could be obtained from your local doctor. Most important is to get clear
notifications about when to update them.
Our leading team should possess basic first aid
qualifications and are all equipped with a first aid kit carried all times.
Despite all that you need strongly an appropriate medical advice prior to all
departures.
Language :
Despite the
fact that Morocco is an Arabic country, French remains predominant in most big
cities, hotels and restaurants. English is not widely spoken and it is important
to learn some basic French to communicate and thus enjoy your trip. Mountains on
the whole tend to speak Berber and its three main dialects, and Arabic is hardly
used, let alone French and English.
EQUIPEMENT TO BE ENVISAGED AND CONDITIONS
EQUIPEMENT TO BE ENVISAGED : A
large bag for clothing, a small back bag for the day, walking shoes, sandals for the bivouac, Kwe, polar, personal drugs, sun lotion, a pair of sunglasses, cap, camera, a torch (frontal), spare batteries, toilet bag and other personal effects.
