 Raid Salama have carefully selected the 4x4 vehicles and accommodation included in this trek. The hotels were chosen not only for their traditional character and charm, but also for their proximity to the route, avoiding additional travel time between stopovers. The camp at Erg Chegaga was included to bring an extra taste of adventure. The trip was organised with our top priority in mind: offer a rare and exotic break in the company of other women.

Rental car Mitsubishi Pajéro Sport

The Mitsubishi Pajero Sport Africa cars were chosen for their easy handling and robustness. We fitted each 4x4 with a Sat. Nav. system, a recovery kit, a camping seat for lunch breaks in the desert and tow straps.

Hôtel Tichka Marrakech le 03/09/2013

Bivouac Erg Chegaga, le 03/15/2013

The camp is located 60 km from the village Mhamid, to reach the bivouac we need  2 hours in a 4x4.

The camp is situated at the foot of the dunes Chegaga the largest dunes in Morocco 350m above sea level, the camp of 20 tents made by the nomads, they are made of goat hair or camel and a mixture of wool, reinforced with a wooden frame. They are equipped to receive 2 to 4 people and give you maximum comfort.

The floor is covered with thick carpets, beds, mattresses, blankets and sheets, you will be provided. The tents are not connected to electricity, small candle lighting you will need. And 4 toilets and 4 showers with hot water heated with solar panels, which will ensure a supply of 220V to charge your batteries, appliances ....

Dar Chamaa Kasbah***, Ouarzazate le 03/16/2013

Constructed similarity of a former KASBAH, buildings done with mud and with towers in the corners.

In his interior the structure is from RIYADH; the spaces overturn to a central court with fountain, surrounded with series of arches.

Le Riad Sirocco**** Marrakech, le 03/17/2013

  

Opened since 2007, in 9 km from Marrakesh in the shade of olive and orange trees, come to savor the peace and the tranquility of this place. It is in the middle of the green area.

The Riad is a charming hotel built in Pisé according to the traditional methods. Consisted of spacious rooms looking onto a large garden, they are quite distributed around a patio style cloisters.

You will enjoy the swimming pool, which is opened everyday during the day and the night. Rooms are equipped with air conditioning, chimney for winter, dressing.

Essential paper work and documents

 

Passport and Visa Information :

Morocco does not require visa application to most countries and you need only to provide a valid passport of six month at least. Similar rules are applied on most European citizens, but you need to get the appropriate advises and make proper checkups with your consulate ahead of any holidays planning. Once in Morocco, you will submit a pre-filled in visitor’s card that will allow you to stay in the country for up to 3 months

Money :

The Dirham is the official currency in Morocco, not found outside the country. While there, money could be changed in most of the major cities where cash points and exchange offices thrive. Be it in a hotel, restaurants or souks, exchanging facilities are available everywhere and payments for meals, shopping souvenirs or extra services could be done with most cards such as Mastercard, Visa, Maetro and Cirrus. To get more information on this particular issue refer to our trip dossier for suggestions on how much extra spending to expect. 

Health and Vaccinations :

Traveling abroad requires a medical checkup before your holiday begins. However, there are not any particular or coercive vaccinations specifically to undertake to travel to the country. Yet, inoculations against Tetanus, hepatitis A and B are recommended and could be obtained from your local doctor. Most important is to get clear notifications about when to update them.

Our leading team should possess basic first aid qualifications and are all equipped with a first aid kit carried all times. Despite all that you need strongly an appropriate medical advice prior to all departures.

Language :

Despite the fact that Morocco is an Arabic country, French remains predominant in most big cities, hotels and restaurants. English is not widely spoken and it is important to learn some basic French to communicate and thus enjoy your trip. Mountains on the whole tend to speak Berber and its three main dialects, and Arabic is hardly used, let alone French and English.

 

 EQUIPEMENT TO BE ENVISAGED AND CONDITIONS

EQUIPEMENT TO BE ENVISAGED :
A large bag for clothing, a small back bag for the day, walking shoes, sandals for the bivouac, Kwe, polar, personal drugs, sun lotion, a pair of sunglasses, cap, camera, a torch (frontal), spare batteries, toilet bag and other personal effects.

IN THE EVENT OF MAJOR FORCE :

The route indicated will be able to only undergo modifications imposed by the climatic conditions.
